Here is why I provide these with every package…
The Backstory
When my husband and I got married, one of the most difficult parts of the planning process was selecting the right photographer. We are both very artistically inclined individuals and were looking for someone who understood that we weren’t looking for standard, cookie-cutter shots. Our vision was more ambitious–one where the images captured the unique spirit of our celebration and the personalities of our guests.
This was a daunting enough task, but we soon discovered that most photographers seemed more interested in squeezing every last penny out of our budget than delivering on what we had in mind for the most important day of our lives. In addition to the outrageous prices most photographers wanted to charge, many were all too eager to tack on even more hidden fees. If we wanted a DVD with all of our high-resolution files, most companies wanted an additional $1,000-$1,500. Ditto for the printing rights, since most photographers try to force you to order drastically overpriced prints through their service in perpetuity.
In addition to the cost associated with all of this, we had more practical concerns. What if we didn’t like the quality of those outrageously priced prints? What if the company went out of business or disappeared–how would we be able to access our wedding photos?
My Reaction
Seeing the way that many companies try to take advantage of couples during the photographer selection process motivated me to take a completely different approach with my clients. From my perspective, a professional photographer’s job is to artfully document your special occasion–whether it is the majesty of your wedding day, preserving a moment of family history, or crafting a compelling visual identity for a group or individual.
When you decide to work with me, my role is to provide you with artful, stunning images. These images are, as they should be, yours. No strings attached, no asterisks, no sneaky fine print. I want you to have complete control over your photographs, and that’s why I provide you with the DVDs and printing rights. You can make beautiful prints from your digital originals, post them online, burn additional copies of your DVDs, and so on.
The most important part of what I do is working with individuals and couples to develop a solid grasp of what the client is looking for, both aesthetically and in terms of a custom photography package. Sometimes, these are clearly defined from the outset, but oftentimes this is initially nebulous. However, the goal is always the same: working together to provide you with the sort of photographic style and package that best fits your vision and budget.
Odds & Ends
If your event is taking place outside of the Denver metropolitan area, you should know that I am happy to travel to your destination in order to photograph your event. I’m always up for an adventure, so let’s discuss what makes sense for you.

All images from your session will be uploaded and made available for your viewing within one business week of your shoot date. Depending on the number of photographs that will be edited and enhanced according to your package, fully finished versions will be available between one and four business weeks after you have made your selections.
